Air Force Research Laboratory, Non Metallic Materials Division (AFRL/MLBC) of the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate, is contemplating a Sole Source award for additional work for - Thermal Protection Materials to Fiber Materials Inc. The award will be additional work to F33615-99-C-5015 also titled - Thermal Protection Materials. The overall objective of this program is to focus on the development of material technologies required to meet the performance objectives the Air Force 2-2-3 nosetip as well as future advanced nosetip concepts. Any source interested in this contract action should respond by fully describing their experience in the design and manufacturing of the 2-2-3 nosetip, their capability to fabricate 2-2-3 nosetip billets, their understanding of the ablation performance of 2-2-3 nosetips, and their plan to extrapolate results from current nosetip programs within the Navy and Air Force to aid in the development of next generation advanced nosetip concepts. Any source interested in this requirement should respond by fully describing the appropriate equipment, facilities, background and experiences of the responding organizations. Responses must include the identity and resumes of all personnel to be utilized, and should be mailed to Nicholas Voiles, Contract Negotiator, AFRL/MLKN, BLDG 167, 2310 8th ST, WPAFB OH 45433-7801. Response packages shall not be submitted via facsimile or email. Closing date for submission of response is within fifteen (15) days from publication of this notice via U.S. Postal Service.
