Full Description

Upgrades Gosport industrial substation to support the increased electrical demand of new ship types. Includes replacement of utility substation (w/ Dominion Virginia Energy), primary power service transformers, Gosport Tie Station, primary power service distribution switchgear, and installs new underground duct banks and industrial controls in both the Controlled Industrial Area and Non-Industrial Area of Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Includes micro-tunneled duct banks under railway. Excludes the medium voltage primary distribution network (substations and ductbanks) on the main installation.
