This contract involves a one-time sealed bid sale for the demilitarization and mutilation of NASA aircraft located at the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, resulting in aircraft scrap residue composed of mixed metals. The sale is strictly for scrap residue generated after mandatory demilitarization and mutilation processes, with no assemblies, components, or identifiable parts being offered. Performance under the contract must begin within five business days after government approval of the End Use Certificate and issuance of the Notice to Proceed, and all required work, including demilitarization, mutilation, certification, removal, and site restoration, must be completed within 60 calendar days unless otherwise authorized. Bidders must comply with several mandatory requirements including a pre-bid site inspection, submission of specific certification forms, proof of demilitarization training, and acknowledgment of any amendments. Bids are submitted as a single lump-sum price with no deposits or performance bonds required. Site access is tightly controlled, limited primarily to U.S. citizens with proper government-issued identification, and requires advance coordination. The solicitation documents are available on GSA Auctions, with the bid submission deadline set for June 9, 2026. Questions must be submitted before June 8, 2026, and the preliminary award notification is scheduled for June 12, 2026.
