The Department of Defense (DoD) and the CECOM Acquisition Center-Washington (CAC-W) are offering an informational opportunity related to the Defense Travel System (DTS) specifically for current DoD Travel Management Service providers and other interested parties considering submitting proposals for upcoming DTS Travel Management Services solicitations. This solicitation is still in the planning phase, and participation in the DTS Passenger Name Record (PNR) Gateway verification process, though voluntary at this stage, will be mandatory for proposal submissions in the future. This process is intended to familiarize Commercial Travel Offices (CTOs) with the DTS concept and functionality, ensuring the smooth transfer of travel requests from the DTS to the Global Distribution Systems (GDS) used by CTOs. The forthcoming solicitation will require contractors to provide all necessary personnel, equipment, tools, and services to manage official travel for DoD personnel within designated travel areas. The DoD has defined 18 travel areas and anticipates issuing multiple contracts, potentially awarding one per travel area, or combining areas under a single contract if advantageous. Upon successful completion of the PNR-Gateway verification, current DoD CTOs may opt to electronically connect with DTS at designated pilot sites, receiving travel requests directly through the system. Additional details and scheduling requests are managed through the official DTS website and email, with contract-related questions directed to the designated Contracting Officer.
