Fall Tree Planting Tender

The City of Woodstock is soliciting bids for the Fall 2026 Tree Planting project, Project No. 84410-26B, which involves the delivery and installation of various deciduous and coniferous trees at multiple locations throughout the city. The scope of work includes procuring number one grade nursery stock, planting into undisturbed ground, and restoring all planting sites to turf with grass seed. All plant material must be balled and burlap; container-grown stock is strictly prohibited. Deciduous trees must have a minimum 60-mm caliper, and coniferous trees must be at least 150cm, though Addendum 1 clarifies that a minimum height of 200cm is acceptable for certain coniferous trees previously listed by caliper size. All work must be completed by December 15, 2026, and includes a one-year warranty for caliper trees. Evaluation is based on best overall value, considering pricing, compliance, past performance, and the qualifications of the project team. The successful contractor must provide a 5 million dollar commercial general liability policy, a 2 million dollar automobile liability policy, and a WSIB Clearance Certificate. Project administration requires the use of city-supplied spreadsheets for progress reporting and electronic submission of PDF invoices. Payment terms include a 10 percent holdback from monthly payments, with an additional 5 percent retained as a warranty security once work exceeds 80 percent of the contract value. All operations must adhere to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and MTO Ontario Traffic Manual-Book 7 for traffic control.
