Policy on Reciprocal Procurement: This solicitation is open only to Canadian suppliers and to Suppliers of an applicable trading partner. Nature of Requirements: The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement. The Contractor must provide various correctional institutions with the rental of various types of forklifts, as listed below: 1. 4-wheel propane forklift with enclosed cab 2. 4-wheel electric forklift 3. 3-wheel electric forklift Objectives: The Correctional Service of Canada (CORCAN) requires a rental service for various types of forklifts, including a 4-wheel propane forklift with an enclosed cab, as well as auxiliary items and integrated logistic support items. The rental service is for CORCAN shops in various institutions in the Quebec Region. CSC may award up to a maximum of five (5) standing offers, one (1) per each STREAM. STREAM 1 = Federal Training Centre STREAM 2 = Archambault Institution STREAM 3 = Drummondville Institution STREAM 4 = Donnacona Institution STREAM 5 = Cowansville Institution Offerors may submit a bid for one or multiple STREAMS. However, Offerors bidding for two or more streams must provide the equipment, transportation, supplies and labour necessary to meet the requirements of all institutions identified within each stream included in their bid. Deliverables: The Contractor must provide various correctional institutions with the rental of various types of forklifts. The Contractor must perform the following tasks: 1. Deliver the forklifts to the locations specified in the call-up; 2. Retrieve the forklifts when the standing offer expires; 3. Upon request, provide registration, permits or exemptions for the duration of the forklift rental; 4. Perform comprehensive forklift maintenance for normal wear and tear, including tire replacement and repair. Repair broken parts or defective equipment during the rental period; 5. Provide a registered forklift of the same type and size to replace a forklift within twenty-four (24) hours of notification of a mechanical breakdown, or provide a certified mechanic and a mobile service unit to carry out repairs within forty-eight (48) hours; 6. Deliver the forklift within twenty-four (24) hours of receipt of the call-up against a standing offer. The Offeror is responsible for all delivery, unloading and travel costs, if applicable, when providing a replacement rental unit. The replacement unit must be inspected and accepted by Canada; 7. Have staff qualified to carry out repairs and maintenance at the institution. The replacement unit will be provided at no additional cost to Canada; 8. Conduct annual safety inspections and provide related documentation to the project authority; 9. Include unlimited mileage for the duration of each forklift rental. Note: *Unlimited mileage is required for forklift rentals. The Contractor is not expected to have to transport the forklifts regularly, as the requirement is primarily for dry storage.
