Accelerate High Dosage Tutoring

The Accelerate: High-Dosage Tutoring initiative is a Request for Applications issued by the Louisiana Department of Education to identify qualified providers to improve literacy and math outcomes for K-5 students. Mandated by Senate Bill 508 of 2024, the program focuses on embedding high-dosage tutoring into the school day for low-performing students. Starting in the 2026-2027 school year, all external providers will operate under Outcomes-Based Contracting structures, with final agreements established between approved vendors and individual Louisiana schools or school systems. Instructional services must align with the science of reading, structured literacy, and locally adopted high-quality instructional materials, specifically avoiding three-cuing in literacy and focusing on numeracy foundational skills in math. Providers must submit a comprehensive instructional materials package for grades K-5 and utilize a data management system to track student attendance and progress. Tutors must be current or retired teachers, trained paraprofessionals, or staff from high-quality providers with specific instructional training. For virtual sessions, providers must grant the LDOE and school leaders open access for monitoring and quality assurance. The application window opens on July 15, 2026, and closes on September 30, 2026, with the state review process occurring through December 31, 2026. Applications are evaluated on a pass/fail basis, focusing on the provider's ability to meet state education goals, commitment to serving English language learners and students with disabilities, and the quality of proposed instructors and tutoring coherence. Submissions must be made through the My.La and LDOE Professional Learning Partner portals, and any subcontracting requires express written approval from the State.
