J--Ergotron carts maintence/ service

The contract establishes a sole source agreement with Versitec for maintenance and service of Ergotron mobile computing carts, citing the statutory authority under FAR 6.302-1 that only one responsible source can fulfill the agency’s requirements. Versitec is the sole authorized and certified service provider by Ergotron, the manufacturer of the carts, and any servicing by unauthorized vendors would void the warranty. This exclusivity is critical to preventing substantial additional costs to the Veteran’s Health Administration. The service scope includes next business day on-site service, an annual preventive maintenance visit, and one complete battery replacement along with the removal and disposal of defective batteries. Each preventive maintenance visit entails a full report on the condition of each cart, with repairs covered up to $100 per cart inspected. Following maintenance, all parts, including the power supply, will be brought up to specification and remain covered under the contract.
