The Klickitat hazardous fuels reduction project will treat 807 acres of hazardous fuels in proximity to Goldendale, WA, a designated National Fire Plan Community-at-Risk and within Wildland Urban Interface. Treatments will reduce wildfire risk, protect community escape routes (e.g., Glenwood Highway), and improve forest health and resilience to wildfire. Implementation will involve the manual and mechanical removal of vegetation, followed by prescribed burning.
