Lake B Long Term Bank Stabilization Project (Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration, No. EPIMS-ALA-44959-R3)

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-ALA-44959-R3 with CEMEX Construction Materials Pacific, LLC. This project, titled the Lake B Long Term Bank Stabilization Project, is located in unincorporated Alameda County at the CEMEX Eliot Quarry, specifically targeting three locations on the north bank of Arroyo del Valle adjacent to the Lake B mine pit. Executed pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code, the project is categorically exempt under Class 2, CCR Title 14, section 15302, as it replaces existing structures on the same site for the same purpose and capacity. The scope of work involves the removal of temporary bank stabilization materials, including ecoblocks and approximately 2,600 cubic yards of riprap from previous emergency repairs. Following removal, the project requires the placement of approximately 6,350 cubic yards of fill material and 9,000 cubic yards of riprap for permanent bank stabilization. Additionally, three stone barbs will be installed mid-channel to enhance fish habitat and promote the re-establishment of riparian plants.
