Pleasure Cove Marina II Project

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-NAP-56500-R3), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to the Project Applicant, Berryessa SMI dba Pleasure Cove Marina as represented by Amber Garcia. The Project is limited to adding a new marina to Lake Berryessa, including the installation of floating boat docks, floating breakwater structure, cover boat slips, anchors, pedestrian access ramps (i.e., gangways), and sanitary pump-out facilities. The floating dock and boat slip structures will be comprised of a galvanized steel frame with polyethylene floats and composite decking surface that will be accessible from the shore by a pedestrian ramp of consistent construction. The floating breakwater will be installed to dampen wakes and wind-generated waves. The pedestrian ramp will be approximately 400 feet in total length and will zig-zag down to the floating docks to maintain an accessible slope. The ramp will be secured in the ground at key points to maintain stability, but no anchors are required within the lakebed. In total, the floating docks and pedestrian access will occupy approximately 130,000 square feet (3 acres) of the lake surface. The floating docks and breakwater will be anchored to the lake bottom using dead-weight concrete anchors with an embedded U-shaped hook to connect to the floating marina via stainless steel cables. Construction requires 88 anchors for the floating dock and 20 more for the breakwater for a total of 108 anchors. The anchors will be lowered into place onto the lake bottom connected via a cable through the U-shaped hook to the floating structure. Each anchor has a five-foot-by-five-foot footprint, or about 25 square feet each. Four steel spikes will be embedded in each block to keep it from sliding down any submerged embankment. The Project will result in permanent impacts to the lake including 300 square feet of lake shoreline, 2,700 square feet (0.62 acres) of lake bottom, and 130,000 square feet (3 acres) of lake surface. No temporary impacts to the lake will occur. A designated construction staging area will be located within an existing paved area that is approximately 30,000 sf (0.7 acres).
