Middle-Mile Broadband Network Project: ADF-G2-CD4-UG1; 04-25-6-BB2819

American Dark Fiber, in collaboration with the California Department of Technology, plans to install approximately 21 feet of underground 2-inch high-density polyethylene conduit with fiber optic cable along State Route 1 in Marin County, exclusively within Caltrans right-of-way. The installation will primarily use open trenching methods, strictly adhering to an approved traffic control plan, with steel plates deployed at driveways to ensure continuous vehicle access. All excavations will be filled or covered during non-working hours to maintain safety and traffic flow. Temporary traffic control devices and signage will be positioned as needed, and a single vault measuring 36 inches wide by 60 inches long by 24 inches deep will be constructed. Fiber optic markers will be placed at the vault and at intervals of roughly every 500 feet along the route, complemented by metallic disk markers embedded in the pavement for identification. The project is formally designated as Middle-Mile Broadband Network Project ADF-G2-CD4-UG1, with Caltrans District 4 as the overseeing agency, and all activities are scheduled to occur within the defined right-of-way boundaries.
