The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), in support of the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), is improving Navys Data Center Consolidation (DCC) effort by increasing efficiency and standardization of Navy data Center operations and increasing Navys cyber security posture. Current Navy DCC tasking has been expanded to include approximately 5000 servers and consolidating/closing 61 legacy data center sites that host Navy business IT applications and systems. The Navy foresees the majority of the Navy applications as candidates to be hosted in a cloud by industry partners. SPAWAR is seeking industry ideas, best practices, and feedback regarding the delivery and support of Navys DCC data hosting options.
