The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, NJ intends to award, on a sole source basis, with MCA Computer Corporation, a purchase order for hardware maintenance support of thirty six (36) Netra 240 servers. This action is being pursued under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. MCA Computer Corporation is the sole owner of the customized configuration drawings of the Netra 240 server that meet the Government's requirement. As such, MCA Computer Corporation is the only source that has the expertise to provide the required service. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition, based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
