The Town of View Royal intends to directly award a contract to Caird Mechanical Contractors Ltd for preventive maintenance inspections, routine services, and confined space entry procedures at its 17 sanitary sewer pump stations, with a total contract value of $132,470 plus tax, extending until December 31, 2026. The decision to bypass a competitive bidding process is based on the vendor’s established and specific familiarity with the Town’s existing infrastructure, the necessity of contractor continuity, and the specialized expertise required to perform these critical maintenance tasks, all of which align with the Town’s Purchasing Policy. Interested parties may submit written challenges by 5 PM PST on May 26, 2025, to Ivan Leung, Director of Engineering, at engineering@viewroyal.ca, with objections evaluated primarily on the protester’s demonstrated experience in operating and maintaining comparable municipal pump stations. The Town will not consider any submissions received after the deadline and reserves the right to proceed with the award if no justifiable objections are raised. The notice was issued on May 19, 2026, under solicitation number BC229617, with a response deadline of May 27, 2026, and is classified under NAICS code 811310.
