The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center, specifically the Center for Cellular Engineering, has issued a notice of intent to sole source the procurement of BD Rhapsody Single-Cell Analysis reagent kits and a scanner upgrade kit. This acquisition is intended to support clinical research protocols involving CAR-T cells and other cell therapies by enabling multiomic analysis of open chromatin accessibility and transcriptomes. The procurement includes the BD Rhapsody HT Xpress Package, 8-Lane Cartridge, Tagmentation and Supplemental Reagents Kit, Multiomic ATAC-Seq Amplification Kit, and a Rhapsody Scanner Upgrade Kit. BD Biosciences is identified as the only vendor capable of providing high quality reagents compatible with the existing BD Rhapsody system, scanner, and express instruments in the laboratory. The projected cost for this one-time delivery is 23,491.28 dollars, with a period of performance from August 7, 2025, to December 5, 2025. The procurement is conducted under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, allowing for a sole source award as the requirement falls below the simplified acquisition threshold. Key requirements include strict temperature maintenance during overnight shipping, a minimum shelf life of three months for sequencing reagents and six months for library generation kits, and the provision of technical support at no additional cost. The contractor is responsible for the replacement costs of any damaged, defective, or incomplete shipments delivered to the CCE PACT laboratory in Bethesda, Maryland.
