NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE-STRATUS SERVER HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE

The Contracting & Purchasing Office, Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB), Barstow, CA 92311 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Stratus Technologies, Inc., 111 Powder Mill Road, Maynard, MA 01754, (Cage Code: 1TMQ4) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Communications Department, MCLB Barstow, CA has a requirement to establish a contract for hardware and software support of the Stratus server for the Computer Aided Dispatch logging system for a period of three years. Market research has revealed this contractor is the original equipment manufacturer, (OEM), of the server and is the only source capable of providing the required services. Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Stratus Technologies, Inc. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all quotes received within ten (10) calendar days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered. Interested parties may identify their interest and unique capabilities to respond to this requirement or submit their quote. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
