NSN SP-364 Replace Underground Cabling in SP Area (Switch 111, Leg 4)

The Navfac Mid-Atlantic, under the Department of the Navy, has issued a forecast for the NSN SP-364 project to replace underground cabling in the SP Area, specifically focusing on Switch 111, Leg 4 in Norfolk. This initiative is necessary because the existing cabling is over 20 years old and has exceeded its useful life, leading to significant degradation and a history of faults, including a failure in the summer of 2022 that required partial replacement between transformers SP362 and SP364(1). The primary objective of this contract is to mitigate the risk of increasing power outages in the area by replacing the obsolete infrastructure. By installing new cabling, the agency aims to restore system reliability and prevent further service interruptions caused by the continued use of aged and failing electrical components.
