The Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of the State Fire Marshal is seeking installation of Access Panel in the existing kitchen hood exhaust at 8895 East Main Steet, Reynoldsburg, Ohio.Service Request –The current hood cleaners have expressed a strong recommendation to have an access panel added on the side of the duct AFTER the fan. The parts below are easily accessible as is the fan box. Right now, there is a part between the 90-degree duct coming up from the hood and into the fan box that are challenging to access or cannot be accessed all together.Requested Service & Items; Install one (1), 10”x6” access panel in existing kitchen hood exhaust fan duct Panel must be air-tight, withstanding exterior weather elements. Panel should be easy to remove with no sharp edges (reduce puncture to roofing material) Installation practices should meet all fire codes including, but not limited to, NFPA 96. Install hours will be M-F (excluding holidays), 2p-5p
DSFM is requesting a 10”x6” exterior access panel be installed on the side duct work to allow cleaning crews to access the internal part of this duct. This is located on the lower roof. Aside from ladders, this level also offers walk-out access.The kitchen is in operation during normal business hours, typically from 6a – 2p. This type of work will need completed while the hood is not in operation. Any added panel shall comply with standard practices for spacing and location of panels.
