Orange County Water District Anaheim Lake Sediment Disposal Project

The Orange County Water District Anaheim Lake Sediment Disposal Project involves the sorting and removal of approximately 20,000 cubic yards of material from Anaheim Lake, an artificial groundwater replenishment basin located in Anaheim, California. The material consists of sediment previously excavated from the basin during routine operations and maintenance activities. Once sorted, the material is to be hauled away by trucks to be utilized as needed by a private aggregate and materials contractor at various off-site locations. The project is classified as an internal operations and maintenance activity and has been granted a categorical exemption under Class 1, Section 15301 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) because it involves maintenance of an existing facility without any expansion. The site of performance is situated northwest of the intersection of Miraloma Avenue and North Tustin Avenue. The Orange County Water District serves as the procuring agency, with Shawn Nevill, Principal Planner, acting as the primary point of contact for the project.
