Permit No. 20047 – Menefee River Ranch Levee Crossing Project

The permit authorizes the continued use and minor enhancements of existing infrastructure crossing the Menefee River Ranch levee, including a 36-inch drainage culvert with headwalls on both ends and a slide gate on the waterside, along with an established irrigation system comprising a lift pump, a concrete pump box in the floodway, an electrical box, and a 16-inch pipe extending from the pump to the waterside of the culvert. Two utility poles and an overhead utility line that traverses the levee are also recognized as pre-existing features documented in As-Built drawings from June 18, 1962, which confirm their presence before the Adopted Plan of Flood Control. The permit further allows for the installation of a new 2-inch diameter electrical conduit that will connect to the existing waterside electrical box and requires the implementation of erosion control measures at both termini of the culvert to mitigate potential destabilization. All work is subject to compliance with flood protection standards and environmental safeguards administered by the Central Valley Flood Protection Board.
