R -- PAS Business Operations

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) intends to extend its existing sole source contract with Getronics Government Solutions, LLC for an additional five months, continuing service through February 29, 2004. During this extension, Getronics will dedicate approximately 30,000 hours to the operation of the Premium Accounting System (PAS), which includes critical tasks such as managing a lockbox bank, imaging documents, and posting premiums. This extension is designed to ensure uninterrupted service during PBGC’s peak operational months of October and November and to facilitate a smooth transition in lockbox post office box numbers. The extension also provides PBGC with the necessary time to complete the recompete process while allowing the agency to fully leverage the enhancements resulting from an ongoing Business Process Reengineering initiative. Importantly, no new Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued for this extension. Gregory N. Smith serves as the contracting officer overseeing this contract extension.
