AI Contract Overview

This RFI seeks to identify potential vendors capable of supplying specific evacuation shelter cots and related accessories for Broward County, with the goal of establishing a sole brand to ensure uniformity across shelter medical supplies. The designated brand includes various types of cots such as general use, functional needs, toddler, and bariatric models, along with compatible carts and replacement mattresses. The purpose of designating a sole brand is to facilitate compatibility, interchangeability, and streamlined storage and shipment processes within county shelters. Vendors are invited to submit information demonstrating their ability to meet these requirements, including supporting documentation to establish comparability. The County’s Purchasing Director will review submissions and determine whether the proposed brand qualifies as a sole source, a decision that will be final and non-appealable. This RFI also functions as a market survey to aid the Human Services Department in developing scope and identifying suitable vendors for future procurement. It emphasizes that responses are informational and do not constitute a purchase commitment or pricing proposal. The response deadline is March 21, 2025, and submissions must be made electronically. The contract size is estimated between $500,000 and $1.5 million, and the solicitation is managed by the Florida FASD - Purchasing office. The process aims to gather comprehensive market data to support potential future solicitations and ensure the county’s needs are met with appropriate, compatible products.
