RFA for Competitive Farm to School Grant Funds

The Oregon Department of Education issued Request for Grant Applications S-58100-00017390 to provide Competitive Farm to School Reimbursement Grant Funds to eligible noncompetitive grantees. The program aims to sustain and increase the purchase and promotion of food that is produced in Oregon, more than minimally processed in Oregon, or both. Funding is distributed across four tiers based on the amount of the grantee's existing noncompetitive grant, with total available funds across all tiers totaling 2.2 million dollars and individual maximum awards ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 dollars. The grant operates as a reimbursement mechanism where 75 percent of eligible food purchases are covered. Up to 25 percent of awarded funds may be used for other reasonable costs, such as growing, harvesting, processing, packaging, sourcing, or transporting food, with indirect administrative costs capped at 10 percent of the total award. Applications are submitted via Smartsheet and evaluated based on a 24-point scoring methodology. Reimbursements are managed through the Electronic Grants Management System (EGMS) on a cost-incurred basis, with a final submission deadline for reimbursement requests set for August 14, 2027.
