INTRODUCTION
The City of Eudora is seeking qualified consulting firms for pre-construction engineering and project management services for the project listed below. Firms shall be qualified in the category equivalent to the Kansas Department of Transportation’s (KDOT) Work Category: 411 - Pedestrian and Bicycle Facility Design. Qualifications for roadway construction inspection equivalent to KDOT’s Work Category 241 will also be considered. Interested consulting firms must be pre-qualified by KDOT in Work Categories 411, 241, and 441, as applicable.
DESCRIPTION & SCOPE
The KDOT Transportation Alternative Project consists of improvements to the Wakarusa Boat Ramp Park’s connectivity, beginning around 500 E. Main Street, extending along the west side of Church Street to the southwest corner of 8 & Main Street, and continuing to Pilla Park at 621 Main Street (see the attached map). The scope includes replacement of the existing Wakarusa River boat ramp; installation of restroom facilities, seating, and a shade structure; paving of the parking lot; installation of signage and pavement markings; and construction of an 8-foot-wide concrete shared-use path linking the Wakarusa Boat Ramp to Pilla Park. The work also includes repair and rehabilitation of existing sidewalks; installation of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps at crossings; replacement of sections of curb and gutter attached to the sidewalk; and improvements to accessibility and aesthetics in compliance with ADA and other applicable regulations.
