Summit High School Stadium Improvements Project

The Fontana Unified School District is implementing the Summit High School Stadium Improvements Project in Fontana, California, to upgrade the existing football field and track to comply with California Interscholastic Federation requirements. The primary objective of the project is to enable Summit High School to host its own home football games, which are currently held at A.B. Miller High School. The scope of work encompasses approximately 6.1 acres and includes the replacement of home bleachers, the addition of new visitor bleachers, a new press box, new team rooms, an entry building, and a cheer/wrestling building. Additionally, the project features the installation of six 80-foot Musco field lights to replace portable lighting, along with fire access and landscaping improvements. Environmental compliance has been addressed through an Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration, concluding that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment provided specific mitigation measures are followed. These measures include managing air quality, noise, and protecting cultural and tribal resources. The project requires approvals from the Division of the State Architect and adherence to the California Fire Code to ensure site safety and emergency access. Construction management requirements include maintaining perimeter fencing and securing equipment to prevent criminal activity on site. The project is managed by the Facilities, Maintenance and Operations and Transportation Department, with Samer Alzubaidi serving as the primary point of contact.
