Various locations - Approve the award of a concession agreement for the operation and maintenance of the Vending Machine Concession

The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks has awarded a five-year concession agreement to the Community Sports Foundation for the operation and maintenance of vending machines at various parks and recreation centers throughout the city. The contract involves the installation, operation, and maintenance of 43 credit card-capable beverage and snack vending machines on a year-round basis. The concessionaire is responsible for furnishing all equipment and stocking machines in compliance with the Department of Recreation and Parks Vending Machine Nutrition and Environmental Guidelines, ensuring the availability of healthy options. The agreement includes the possibility of a five-year renewal. The scope of work encompasses a wide range of locations, including the Griffith Observatory, various regional headquarters, and numerous recreation centers such as the Anderson, Cheviot Hills, and Mar Vista centers. This project is classified as exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act under PRC Title 14 Section 15061(b)(3), as the replacement and stocking of vending machines are determined to have no significant environmental impact. Administrative oversight is managed by the Environmental Supervisor for the City of Los Angeles.
