This project renovates Building 1780 (1,033 SM) at Naval Station Rota, Spain, for the 22nd Naval Construction Regiment. The scope includes full architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection upgrades, along with AT/FP enhancements and new finishes, complying with all applicable UFCs. The building will house Open Secret Storage (OSS), a medical area, a soils laboratory, and support spaces. The OSS will feature open office space, private offices, a command suite, a conference room, and a secure telecommunications room. The medical area will include exam and treatment rooms, offices, and specialized storage. The soils lab will have a dedicated work area and storage. Support spaces encompass upgraded electrical/telecommunications rooms and a janitor/maintenance closet. Exterior work includes repairs, repainting, and parking lot upgrades. The project will address asbestos and lead mitigation, and requires seismic evaluation and retrofitting per UFC 3-301-1. Obsolete exterior elements will be demolished. Two concept design layouts will be provided, each with independent exterior access for the OSS, medical area, and soils laboratory.
