The Department of Defense, through the Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Fort Eustis, Virginia, intends to award a single source purchase order to Contract Furnishings, Inc. for the custom fabrication of reclaimed wood furniture for the TRADOC TRISA building at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. This procurement will be conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, allowing for a non-competitive award because Contract Furnishings, Inc. is identified as the only responsible source with the unique capability to fulfill the requirement. The applicable NAICS code for this contract is 337211, which pertains to Wood Office Furniture Manufacturing, and the firm must qualify as a small business. This notice serves as a formal announcement of the intent to award and is not a request for competitive proposals, though the government will consider capability statements submitted by qualified small businesses by 9:00 AM EDT on June 28, 2012. While these responses will be reviewed to assess the potential for a competitive procurement, the Government retains full discretion to proceed with the sole source award based on the unique nature of the furniture fabrication needed. All responses must be emailed to designated contracting officials at the MICC office at Fort Eustis within the specified deadline.
