AI Contract Overview
The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute for Child Health and Human Development, in partnership with several NIH institutes including the NIDCD, NIEHS, NIMH, and NINDS, plans to release a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Autism Centers of Excellence (ACE) Network. This initiative aims to support multisite, collaborative research projects that build upon over two decades of ACE research, leveraging advanced technologies and methodologies to address autism-related scientific questions. Funding will be provided through the R01 Research Project Grant mechanism, with each ACE Network submitting one multi-site R01 application encompassing sub-awards for collaborating research sites. The focus is to encourage scientific disciplines to join forces for innovative investigations. Although applications are not currently being accepted, this advance notice is intended to give researchers ample time to form collaborations and develop strong research proposals. The opportunity aligns with specific legislative authorities that allow NICHD to forecast this solicitation. Investigators with expertise in autism research and related fields are encouraged to prepare for the forthcoming NOFO. The funding mechanism supports multi-institutional efforts aimed at advancing the understanding and treatment of autism spectrum disorders. Interested parties can seek additional information from the designated contact, Alice Kau, Ph.D., at the NIH.
