Calabazas Creek Bank Rehabilitation Project, Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement No. EPIMS-SCL-14915-R3, Major Amendment 3

The Calabazas Creek Bank Rehabilitation Project, under Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement No. EPIMS-SCL-14915-R3, has been updated via Major Amendment 3. This amendment, approved by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife on July 17, 2025, authorizes the lead agency, Valley Water, to perform critical repairs at project sites 1, 2, and 9. These repairs are necessary to correct scour holes and infrastructure failures caused by high flow events during 2024/2025. The scope of work includes the removal of failed infrastructure and the installation of both grouted and non-grouted riprap. The project is located in Cupertino, California, spanning 3,000 linear feet of Calabazas Creek from Miller Avenue to Bollinger Road. The proposed repairs will result in a new impact area of 1,700 square feet. To offset these impacts, the applicant is required to provide compensatory mitigation by installing new riparian restoration plantings across an additional 1,700 square feet. The work is conducted pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602 and is subject to a Mitigation Reporting or Monitoring Plan adopted by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
