Clean Sweep Program

The City of Lethbridge is seeking a contracted operator for the Clean Sweep Program (COL-26-166), a community safety and public space maintenance initiative. The program focuses on maintaining a clean and welcoming environment through daily downtown cleaning, needle debris collection citywide, and targeted maintenance at identified hotspots such as the Shelter Area and Galt Gardens. The contract is valued at 2,700,000 dollars over a five-year term from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2031, with an optional four-year extension. Funding is allocated at 540,000 dollars annually, with administrative expenses capped at 10 percent of total funding. The selected operator must demonstrate expertise in biohazard cleanup, sharps handling, and trauma-informed practices, while ensuring staff complete Tier 1 System Navigator training. Insurance requirements include minimum coverage of 2,000,000 dollars for Commercial General Liability and Automobile Liability.
