The primary objective is to stabilize a failing slope to protect an existing sanitary sewer line through the installation of a 130-foot-long shear pin wall on the downhill side of the infrastructure. Additional scope includes the installation of a new support wall approximately 10 feet below an existing iron fence, the deployment of temporary silt fences to prevent debris flow, and the implementation of long-term erosion control using native vegetation planting. The project is being treated as an emergency repair due to the critical necessity of maintaining sewer services for public health and safety. Construction is anticipated to last approximately eight weeks, with work scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM to comply with local noise ordinances. The contractor is responsible for several environmental and safety mandates, including dust suppression through water sprinkling, securing open excavations daily, and protecting all existing property. Specific constraints require the preservation of healthy mature trees with a diameter of 12 inches or greater at breast height. Furthermore, the contractor must implement traffic control measures as required by the City of Saratoga and provide residents with at least two working days' notice before commencing work or resuming work after a suspension exceeding 24 hours.
