Demuth Test Well Project

The Demuth Test Well Project, managed by the Sonoma County Water Agency, involves a hydrogeologic study to evaluate groundwater conditions and support potential well development in Forestville, California. The project scope includes the construction of one 14-inch-diameter stainless steel test well to an approximate depth of 100 feet, designed to pump groundwater at rates comparable to a municipal supply well. This follows previous project phases that included geophysical surveys and the installation of four groundwater monitoring wells. Following the installation of the test well, a pumping test will be conducted to collect groundwater level and pumping data from both the new test well and the four existing monitoring wells. This data will be used to characterize and quantify the site's hydrogeologic properties, including hydraulic characteristics, aquifer response, and groundwater production capacity. The project is located at 9841 Wohler Road and has been granted categorical exemptions under Sections 15304 and 15306, as it is expected to cause no significant environmental disturbance.
