The Project consists of water treatment system improvements to Well 34 and Well 19. The project includes excavation, addition of ~10,586 square feet of concrete pads, the installation of four GAC vessels to treat for 1,2,3-TCP followed by two IX structures to treat for nitrate, 6 aboveground storage tanks (2 brine tanks and 4 waste tanks), the reconfiguration of the well discharge piping, additional site lighting, and the backfilling of soil to restore the ground level at the existing Well 34 site. Each of the two parallel trains would treat 1,000 gallons per minute (gpm). Concrete pad space was included to allow a third train of GAC and IX to be installed to treat Well 19. This would result in the concentrations of 1,2,3-TCP and nitrate at levels within the respective MCL. Approximately 0.87 acres of the 1.38-acre Project Site would be disturbed over the course of construction. There will be no expansion of permitted use to produce water from Well 34 and Well 19.
