Dock Retrofit at Berth G242 – Harbor Development Permit No. 26-022

The Port of Long Beach is overseeing the retrofit of a damaged dock located at Pier G, Berth G242 in Long Beach, California, under Harbor Development Permit No. 26-022. The scope of work involves the installation of seven embedded piles, each 50 feet long and 18 inches in diameter, and a new 40-foot by 82-foot floating platform equipped with three mooring slots. To support the project, the site will include the temporary placement of two trailers, one measuring 60 feet by 12 feet and another 60 feet by 60 feet, both 10 feet in height with utility connections, as well as temporary perimeter fencing up to 12 feet high. All removed equipment must be disposed of according to federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The project is managed by the Port of Long Beach City of Long Beach Harbor Department Environmental Planning Division, with Ruben Trigueros serving as the Capital Projects Coordinator and Tyler Hanks as the lead agency contact. This initiative has been granted a Notice of Exemption under the California Environmental Quality Act, as it qualifies for categorical exemptions regarding minor alterations and the replacement of small structures without significant environmental impact. The work is situated within Harbor Planning District 8 in the Southeast Harbor of Los Angeles County.
