Foothill College Tennis Courts Renovations CEQA Exemption

The Foothill De-Anza Community College District is undertaking a renovation project for the tennis courts at Foothill College located in Los Altos Hills, California. The scope of work includes resurfacing the existing tennis courts and installing new lighting and pickleball lines. These improvements are designed to increase the available capacity of the courts and introduce an additional sport to the campus without altering the existing court size or increasing student enrollment. Public access to the courts will be maintained following the completion of the project. The project is classified as a forecast under NAICS code 237990 and has been granted categorical exemptions from the California Environmental Quality Act under CEQA Guidelines Sections 15301 and 15314, as it is determined to have no significant environmental impact. Key project management is led by David Fisch, Director of the Capital Construction Program, with support from Welianto Liu and Rachel Goren. Environmental considerations include noise mitigation measures for developments adjacent to Interstate 280, Arastradero Road, and Foothill Expressway, utilizing strategies such as site planning, landscaped berms, and sound-proofing to minimize traffic noise impacts.
