Pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1652, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has approved the Foster Park Fish Passage Phase 2 submitted by City of San Buenaventura (City of Ventura). The primary purpose of the Project is barrier removal of a 36-inch discharge pipeline from the Ventura River in order to improve conditions for passage of native fish species. The Project will mediate the limiting factors of immigration and emigration of fish species along the Ventura River. The species likely to benefit from this Project include southern California steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
