The Peace-Liard Business Area of British Columbia Timber Sales is proposing a Planting Implementation contract to implement and oversee plating quality and silviculture surveys for the 2026 summer tree planting season. The proposed contract is planned for approximately 974,760 summer trees to be planted, with Forest Investment Program (FIP) trees totaling approximately 32,000 for this contract. Net Area to be Reforested (NAR) for this contract is approximately 613 hectares. This contract has a start date of July 5, 2026.The Implementation Contractor will be responsible for completing all quality pay plots, regeneration plots, tree cache and reefer inspections, silviculture unit layout, and assisting BC Timber Sales staff with Environmental Management System (EMS) inspections during planting operations. There are approximately 574 pay plots and 150 regeneration plots for this contract. The proposed summer trees will be allocated over 25 cutblocks in the Dawson Creek Timber Supply Area (TSA) of northeast British Columbia, near the communities of Dawson Creek and Tumbler Ridge. Approximately 152,800 of the summer trees will require helicopter support, spread out over two (2) cutblocks. All sites are located within the Dawson Creek TSA and access will be via truck, ATV, or helicopter. The successful contractor will be responsible for all planning of helicopter transportation and all costs incurred.
