Full Description

MPSR# 62435611 CAT-2 / DB-IH Requirement: Design, build, and install a Containerized Motor Generator Set with Flywheel to protect LAPSC from impulses, voltage sags, and surges. System shall be sized to accommodate full load from B6500, B6501, B6502, and B6503. Justification: Over the recent years, electrical system transients have occurred as unintentional nuisance spikes, dips, and trips. These transients are most often caused by utility transmission line switching, voltage regulator switching, right-of-way encroachment by trees, and high winds. When contact occurs, a transient voltage is created and transmitted to Navy Base Kitsap (NBK) in the form of transient spikes, instantaneous voltage fluctuations, and dynamic sags that have resulted in interrupted operations, tripped systems, damaged facility equipment, and damage to onboard systems. Installation of a power conditioner would protect LAPSC's sensitive equipment from early failures due to constant power cycling.
