AE design required Seismic upgrades to the superstructure and substructure include: retrofit of original building brace connections, restroom modifications, American Barrier Act elements, heat and ventitlation along with removal and reinstallation of architectural, electrical, mechanical interferences Seismic upgrades also includes removing and re-installing interfering plant equipment, shop equipment, lockers, cabinets, ventilation, work benches, offices and storage racks. This project upgrades high-bay power distribution panel boards to allow for installation of a 480VAC, three phase grounded system. This project corrects numberous documented HDA safety hazard deficiencies RAC 2, RAC 3 and RAC 4 electrical and structural deficiencies. Station support includes red badge escort, outage coordination, assistance with hazardous material handling, and a facility production process specialist to assist with overall project coordination. Seismic upgrades shall be compliant with the Unified Facility Code (UFC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and International Building Code (IBC), economical to maintain and operate, durable and shall fit its use and its surroundings. The machine shop is on the historical register and requires State Historical Preservation Office (SHPO) review and concurrence on all facility projects to retain the historical era of the building. Seismic upgrades shall be designed to meet or exceed the useful service life specified in DoD Unified Facility Criteria. Seismic upgrades will incorporate features that provide the lowest practical life cycle cost solutions satisfying the facility requirements with the goal of maximizing energy efficiency.
