Santa Monica is an internationally recognized coastal community known for its beaches, parks, neighborhoods, arts and cultural organizations, business districts, and iconic public destinations including Downtown Santa Monica, the Third Street Promenade, and the Santa Monica Pier. The City welcomes millions of visitors annually while serving a diverse residential community. Public spaces play an important role in the City's identity, functioning as places where residents, workers, businesses, artists, and visitors gather to celebrate culture, build community, and experience Santa Monica. Santa Monica is stepping confidently onto the global stage with a growing lineup of major events that celebrate the city's coastal culture, support local businesses, and create memorable experiences for residents and visitors. Following the energy of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the new partnership with Goldenvoice the City is continuing to build momentum toward Super Bowl LXI and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Beyond the Games, the Major Events Division is establishing a legacy programming structure designed to serve Santa Monica for years to come. A dedicated City events team is curating a mix of free and ticketed, publicly accessible activations that highlight the City's creativity, vibrancy, and welcoming spirit. This winter, SWISS Xmas Inc. will transform the Pier parking deck into a Swiss Winter Village European-inspired holiday experience. In January 2027, Santa Monica will make its debut in the Tournament of Roses Parade with a float whose design was first unveiled at this year's State of the City; and looking ahead to Super Bowl LXI, the City will host ESPN Beach on the Pier Deck and the beach, offering a full week of broadcasts, performances, and family friendly activities. From global sporting events to music festivals and community gatherings, Santa Monica's growing roster of events showcases the City's unique character while providing memorable experiences for residents and visitors alike

Freedom 250 Reception and Fireworks Event
Solicitation # 19JA7027Q0002
The U.S. Consulate General Sapporo is soliciting quotations for a firm-fixed-price contract to provide comprehensive event management for the Freedom 250 commemorative event on February 5, 2027. The event features a two-hour reception at Nouvelle Pousse at Okurayama followed by a 20-minute professional fireworks display starting at 8:00 p.m. The contractor is responsible for all aspects of the event, including venue coordination, hospitality, entertainment, permitting, transportation, parking, photography, videography, technical support, and safety management. Award will be granted to the lowest priced, technically acceptable, and responsible offeror. Technical evaluations will focus on relevant experience managing VIP events and professional fireworks displays in compliance with Japanese laws, as well as the contractor's approach to safety and operational oversight. Key deliverables include planning documents due within ten days of award, finalized permits and safety plans prior to the event, and the delivery of professional photography within five business days post-event. All U.S. contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management, and quotations must be submitted electronically in English by November 20, 2026.

RFI - Event Management & Technical Production Services for Commencement Ceremonies
Solicitation # 1254826
Grand Valley State University is issuing Request for Information 1254826 to gather technical insights, vendor qualifications, and preliminary cost structures for a potential five-year contract. The objective is to secure comprehensive event management, technical production, and live event coordination services for four annual commencement ceremonies held at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This process is strictly for information-gathering and planning purposes and does not constitute a formal solicitation for bids or a commitment to award a contract. Key requirements for interested suppliers include proficiency in Tassel software for displaying names and announcements, and the ability to provide technical documentation such as rigging designs and CAD drawings. Deliverables include the production of video-recorded electronic files of all ceremonies in modern digital formats. Vendors must demonstrate experience collaborating with Van Andel Arena management on technical safety and logistics, and they must ensure all subcontractors meet higher education risk and insurance standards, including commercial liability and workers compensation. The university emphasizes socially responsible procurement, prioritizing American-made products and services when they are technically acceptable and price-competitive. All responses must be submitted through the GVSU Workday Strategic Sourcing platform by 5:00 PM ET on November 13, 2026. As this is an RFI, the university is seeking budget estimates rather than binding prices.
