Morgue Transport Services for the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office

Collin County is soliciting sealed bids under IFB No. 2026-300 to establish a firm, fixed-price agreement for 24/7 morgue transport services for the Medical Examiner’s Office. The selected contractor, which must be a qualified funeral home or mortuary service provider, will be responsible for the pickup and transportation of decedents from various locations throughout Collin County to the Medical Examiner’s Office. The contract is scheduled to begin on December 30, 2026, for an initial one-year term with three optional one-year renewals, with an estimated annual value of 130,000 dollars. Award will be granted to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Mandatory requirements include at least two years of current experience transporting deceased persons in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex, two client references from the past 24 months, and the provision of commercial auto, workers compensation, and general liability insurance. Operational specifications require each assignment to be manned by two people with at least two vehicles available at all times. Vehicles must be clean, provide privacy, accommodate at least two bodies, and be equipped with backboards, sheets, and scoop stretchers. The use of flashing lights and sirens is strictly prohibited. Bids are due by 2:00 PM on October 15, 2026, and must be submitted via the electronic procurement portal or as a signed hard copy in a sealed envelope. Required documentation includes a W-9, Form 1295, and a Conflict of Interest Questionnaire. Depending on the final contract value, performance and payment bonds may be required.
