SLVWD Water Storage Tanks Recoating

The San Lorenzo Valley Water District is seeking the rehabilitation and recoating of six above ground water storage tanks located in the unincorporated communities of Boulder Creek, Ben Lomond, and Felton, California. These tanks, which range in capacity from 75,000 to 721,000 gallons, require comprehensive service to extend their operational life and ensure they meet current public health and safety standards. The scope of work includes sampling and testing existing coatings, removing interior coatings, rewelding damaged metal surfaces, and applying new coatings to both interior and exterior surfaces. Additionally, the project may involve the maintenance, repair, or replacement of appurtenant structures such as fences and ladders. All activities will be conducted within existing roads, turnarounds, and fenced operational areas around the tank footprints. A critical requirement of the project is the adherence to best management practices and regulatory requirements for the handling and removal of hazardous waste during the coating removal process. This project is categorized as a forecast under NAICS code 237990 and is considered categorically exempt under CEQA Guidelines Section 15301(d), Class 1, as it involves the maintenance and minor alteration of existing facilities.
