The U.S. Department of Justice, through its Justice Management Division's Procurement Services Staff, plans to negotiate a sole source contract with Sirius Software, Inc. for licensing and support of specific software products. The contract will cover maintenance services including corrections of known software issues, enhancements for added functionality, and upgrades necessary to ensure compatibility with system changes, such as migration from an IBM 2086-260 to an IBM 2098-E10 enterprise server. The software must operate on the z/OS mainframe system and is currently used at the Justice Data Center in Washington, D.C., with planned relocation of operations to Rockville, Maryland. This procurement process does not involve a solicitation document, and interested parties are invited to submit written statements demonstrating their experience with Sirius software licenses and support. These statements will help determine if a competitive procurement is necessary but are not considered formal proposals or bids. The decision to keep the contract sole source rests solely with the Government. The initial contract term is expected to be one year, with four additional one-year option periods available for extension. The contracting officer managing this effort is Kenneth C. Freeman, and inquiries or responses can be directed to him.
