Surface Warfare Officer School (SWOS) will implement tailored training for prospective Surface Warfare Department Heads within 2 months. In order for this tailored training approach to be effective the contractor will draw from existing technologies to select a set of assessment measures to be used as an entry-level screening methodology for students entering Department Head training at SWOS. The assessment measures will afford identification of knowledge and skill deficiencies of incoming trainees, providing the foundation for tailored training. More specifically, the assessment methodology will provide a strategy for assigning trainees to the classroom, simulation-based, or live training that would be most beneficial given individual knowledge/skill strengths and deficiencies. The constructs to be assessed will focus on specific job knowledge domains the trainee may be expected to possess, to varying degrees, upon entry into Department Head training at SWOS. More specifically, the focus will be on constructs emphasized within the Combat Systems Core curriculum, including but not limited to Air Defense (AD) and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR).
