This project combines UM - WW - REPLACE WWTP SUBNATANT PIPING and UM - INSTALL DRUM THICKENERS AT JBPHH WWTP projects. Scope for Subnatant Piping: Scope involves constructing a replacement 8-inch subnatant force main from the Disolved Air Flotation Tanks System Subnatant Wetwell Pump Station to the Influent Channel of the Anoxic/Aeration Tanks. Work will include trenching and installing approximately 140 feet of new HDPE force main, connecting the force main to the existing subnatant pumps, and coring a hole through the wall of the influent channel and affixing the new pipe end in place. The existing force main is severely corroded and has recently (within the last nine months) broken several times; each time, a spill is recorded and reported to the State Department of Health. Scope for Drum Thickeners: Justification: Induction of this project is required due to the recent Notice of Violation Order (NOVO) for the WWTP. Several deficiencies were identified that need to corrective action which involves repairs. Project scope involves: purchasing and installing two new drum thickeners outside of the existing dissolved air floatation tanks (DAFTs) building; connecting primary sludge and waste activated sludge lines to inlet of floculation tanks for drum thickeners; connecting polymer tote to polymer feeder; connecting drum thickener outlet to existing sludge transfer pumps; connecting power to new drum thickeners.
