QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS : RFI #1 Question: spec 01 00 00 lay down and dumpster area: Where will the laydown and dumpsters area be located?
Answer: There is no guarantee of laydown space, contractors shall plan accordingly to support their material. Yes, power is available. Dumpster location will be coordinated with COR. RFI #2 Question: Parking: How many parking spaces will be provided?
Answer: Per specification 010000 section: 1.5F2. There will be no parking by any contractors on the VA campus
RFI #3 Question: spec 01 35 26 SSHO: Can the superintendent be dual-hatted and fulfill the role of SSHO?
Answer: Yes, the superintendent and SSHO can perform both roles
RFI #4 Question: spec 02 83 33.13 LBP: Can the government please identify the location and quantities of LBP (lead-based paint) remediation?
Answer: The samples tested pertained to painted plaster (white) walls. The analytical results indicated that the white-painted plaster walls contain 480 parts per million (ppm) of lead. If white painted plaster walls are Impacted by the project, contractors should be aware and take the appropriate precautions to comply with OSHA regulations and VA project specifications see lead paint report attached.
RFI #5 Question: Procore software: Will the government accept the use of Procore construction management software?

RFI #7 Question: spec 02 82 11 asbestos abatement 1.1.2 extent of work: Is all the ACM removal associated with the mechanical demo? I.E. no abatement is expected to remove mastic etc. on duct, pipe boxes that are not shown for removal.
Answer: Yes, the abatement scope is associated with the mechanical demo- see mechanical drawings - see attachment.
RFI #8 Question: spec 02 82 11 asbestos abatement 1.1.2 extent of work material locations table: Where is Corridor A-2-15 located?
Answer: Contractor to bid quantities for removal. Corridor is C*2*3. Also, corridor A-2-15 is to the north. RFI #9 Question: spec 02 82 11 3.2 removal of ACM/phasing: As the specs call for critical barriers, an attached 3-stage decontamination unit, drop cloths beneath the work, and negative pressure requirements of this specification for any level of abatement. Would the Government allow the phasing for the abatement to include "owning" both sides of the corridors (closed to traffic) for the abatement in the corridors?
Answer: All work within corridors shall occur during weekends, between 8PM Friday and 6AM Monday. The corridors shall be opened for normal operations outside of these hours. It is permissible to own both sides (closing traffic) during weekend work. Coordinate with COR.
RFI #10 Question: Drawing 1-A001 detail 16 and note 2: 1) Note 2 calls for new wall covering. Does the VA have attic stock to match? If not, can we paint, or please provide the wallpaper manufacturer series and color? 2) detail 16 labels room as C242 is this mislabeled and should be A242?
Answer: Paint is an acceptable finish coordinate with COR to match attic stock; the contractor is to provide a level 5 finish from corner to corner. Detail 16 label is mislabeled and should be A242.
