DELIVERABLE: CAT-2 IH-DB FUNDING: SIOP-RM PROGRAM INFO: FY-24 Q3 SOW: Facility Background: B78 is of permanent construction, built in 1903. It is a four level, 63,852 SF building located in the center of the Shipyard. B78 underwent a major seismic retrofit, renovation and rehabilitation project in 2001. RCD and Shop 75 are currently located in B495 and it will be demolished in Q3 FY26 per P454 project execution. Users/Uses in Building 78: Shipyard Trade Skill Center 900T and Radiological Training Center Code 105.4;105.5 (59,483 SF) and the Navy Emergency Communication (4,369 SF). Conditions: The FPD list this building condition as adequate. Recent facility condition assessment identified the following building system deficiencies: foundations; superstructure; exterior closures; roofing; interior construction; interior finishes; conveying; plumbing; HVAC; fire protection; some electrical. Scope: Renovations are to include replacement and upgrades to HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems. Remodel for administrative office functions to support four superintendents; 68 trade supervisors and engineers. Reconfigure modified academic spaces to support shop muster areas and training areas for 163 full- time employees. Renovate rooms 140 and 143 on the first floor in support of RCD garages. RCD and Shop 75 existing square foot requirement is 28,182 SF. Renovations will also include In-Activation’s (IA) admin, muster and support spaces. Total existing use for IA is 20,442 SF. Spaces for IA should accommodate a maximum of 520 support and production personnel at one time (FY 24 SEP).
