FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ANNOUNCEMENT: SUBJECT: Notice of Intent (NOI) to award a Sole Source to Audio Visual Services Group, LLC, dba PSAV. SOLICITATION NUMBER: NB671000-19-01848, Audio Visual (AV) Services/Rental for Annual Public Safety Broadband Stakeholder Meeting in Chicago, IL from July 8-11th, 2019 CONTACT POINTS: Michael Fredericks, Contracting Officer (303) 497-7763; Background The National Institute of Standards and Technology's Communications Technology Laboratory (CTL), Public Safety Communications Research Division (PSCR) is hosting their 2019 Public Safety Broadband Stakeholder Meeting in Chicago, Illinois, at the Westin Michigan Avenue, July 9-11, 2019. The Stakeholder Meeting brings together representatives from public safety sectors, government agencies, industry, and academia. Participants hear from PSCR engineers on testing updates, upcoming R&D efforts, and opportunities to get involved. Additionally, PSCR invites industry leaders and public safety partners to present cutting edge technology trends, features, and functionalities. The annual Stakeholder Meeting enables PSCR and its partners to provide and receive direct input, guidance, and feedback from the diverse public safety stakeholder community. NIST Conference Services has issued award 13333ND19FNB105023 for Conference Services to FBC. Consequently, FBC will organize the Stakeholder Meeting at the Westin Michigan Avenue. This organizing activity, under the contract, includes AV Services to be performed by PSAV. Payment to PSAV for that support is partially paid through the event registration fees. The balance of the AV services must be contracted and paid for under a separate Purchase Order (PO). To eliminate multiple channels of authority which could cause confusion and duplication of effort, it is prudent business not to have two vendors providing AV Services. Therefore, the logical course of action is to issue a PO to PSAV for the remainder of the work. In this case a sole source award to PSAV is the appropriate decision.
